Grave I.B.79. Son of Mrs E Baker, of Point, Durban, South Africa (Source : C.W.G.C.). Wounded in Delville Wood during the rescue of Lieutenant Craig on the 16th July 1916, with Faulds (VC), Estment (MM). Killed in action on the 12th April 1917 in the improvised and disastrous attack of the 9th (Scottish) Division on the German positions in the East of Fampoux. The 1st SAI lost 2 officers and 203 men. |
